Fake Dating My Ex’s Favourite Hockey Player Novel CH 89
I know Toby. He’s Stone and Zane’s teammate. So the girl hanging off his arm that day was Toby’s girlfriend.
For some reason, maybe it’s too many drinks or that I actually like Toby. He was nice enough to me when I was with Zane.
It’s probably neither of the above. Actually, it’s most likely Stone’s breath fanning against my cheek.
But nausea builds up in my throat and I suddenly don’t feel so good.
“I guess I’m not the only WAG you’ve harassed.”
As expected, my words fly over his head.
“Pathetic scum? Me?” Stone chuckles but he looks half mad. “Coming from a fairly used hockey bitch.”
Suddenly, I’m sick and tired of his condescension.
Sure, this situation is far from ideal. He’s much stronger than me and has me pinned against the wall and if I inhale his breath one more time I might just throw up, but I’ve never been known for my critical thinking skills or high sense of self preservation.
Right now, both seem non–existent.
My smile is pained. “Well this fairly used hockey bitch would rather be thrown off this cruise than have you ‘use‘ her. That must really suck, huh? And how did Toby’s girl let you near
her with that breath of yours?”
The smile is wiped off his face and he lets out a growl and frees my wrist.
I take it as a chance to escape, finally sobered up enough to make a run for it, but I must miscalculate his strength and put too much faith in my clear–headedness because I trip over my feet the same time he pins me against the wall once more, this time his hands are tightly wrapped around my throat, blocking my windpipe.
I try to breathe but each time I inhale, I’m met with Stone’s halitosis. (
“Don’t make this difficult, baby,” he murmurs, leaning in closer until I’m flush against him. His cologne is suffocating as well. “You owe me. Why did you have to talk to me like that? Why

couldn’t you just have been a good girl and spread your legs when I asked? I’ve waited patiently all these years, don’t you think I deserve a reward?”
I jerk my knee up, aiming for his gut, but he shifts at the last second. My hit lands, but not hard enough. He grunts, grip loosening just slightly, and I use the opportunity to claw at his arm. My nails scrape against skin, but he only laughs, grabbing both my wrists now.
“You really think you can fight me?” His smile is sharp, cruel. “That’s adorable.”
Then, he shoves me against the wall, pinning my hands above my head. My head slams against it. Hard. And blinding pain explodes through me.
I suck in a sharp breath, vision blurring.
“You don’t want to do this. Let me go, Stone.”
“On the contrary, I’ve wanted to do this forever,” he leans into the crook of my neck and
lands a kiss there.
A shudder rips through me, equal parts fear and fury. My stomach churns, my pulse
thundering in my ears.
I twist against his grip, thrashing, but his hands tighten like a vice. “Let go of me!” My voice comes out desperate, shaking – but not weak. Never weak.
He chuckles against my skin, breath hot, sickening. “Feisty,” he muses. “I like that.”
Rage flares in my chest. I angle my head back and slam it forward, my forehead cracking against his nose. He curses, his grip faltering for half a second – half a second I seize.
I wrench my knee up again, harder this time. He stumbles, but his hands find my waist, yanking me back before I can bolt.
Panic claws at my throat.
No.
I won’t let this happen.
Not again.
I gather every ounce of strength I have, twisting and kicking, but Stone is stronger. His grip tightens, his patience snapping.

Then-
We’re so busy fighting each other, neither of us notice the door open until Stone is pulled off me by the collar.
Liam’s eyes are blazed with fury, a second later his fist connects with Stone’s jaw.
