After i left my ex-husband Ch 25
That evening, the first guest arrived as promised.
It was a Rolls–Royce parked in front of the house.
Agustin seemed to have just come from some social event, dressed in a formal black suit, wearing a silver brooch. His short black hair was slicked back, and his handsome face carried a touch of aloofness and distant pride.
However, Agustin’s eyes and smile were both gentle.
“Ms. Norton, this is my first time visiting your studio, so I brought a small gift.”
The Calhoun family driver unloaded more than a dozen blooming hydrangeas from the truck behind.
“I saw the photos you took of your studio the other day, and noticed there were no flowers in the yard. So I thought I’d bring some, hoping they bring you good mood while you work.”
Jaelynn was momentarily stunned, then delighted.
These hydrangeas are beautiful. This is such a unique gift, thank you.”
The driver carried the flowers into the villa’s backyard.
The Calhoun family even brought along a gardener to handle the planting, which was impressively thoughtful.
Jaelynn led Agustin on a tour of the studio, where her practice carvings were still piled on the table.
“Ms. Norton, have you already started preparing?”
Agustin picked up a stone carved with a flying bird, gently stroking it with his fingertip, and nodded, saying, “It seems my early reservation was quite foresighted.”
–
“For a little–known designer like me, having my second piece collected by the Calhoun family is truly an honor.”
Jaelynn smiled.
There was a hint of emotion in her words.
Besides Cynthia, Agustin was also someone who recognized her abilities.
“Mr. Calhoun, what kind of piece would you like?”
“In October, it will be Sir Calhoun’s eightieth birthday. I want to prepare a gift he will, truly like.”
As Agustin spoke, he opened a painting by a renowned artist on his phone.
“Sir Calhoun loves pines and cypresses the most. Can this painting be made into a jade carving?”
Jaelynn studied the lush and vigorous pines and cypresses in the painting, and analyzed professionally, “If this painting is made into a jade carving, the size would be very large, requiring a big piece of raw jade. The carving process for pines and cypresses cannot have any mistakes, or the jade will be ruined.”
She felt it would be challenging, and her expression grew serious.
“Mr. Calhoun, are you trying to test me?”
“I will provide the jade.”
Agustin looked at her gently, his tone firm: ‘I believe in Ms. Norton’s abilities. You can complete this carving
Jaelynn was so nervous that she took a deep breath
She studied the painting carefully, and after some serious thought, an idea began to form in her mind before she answered.
“This jade carving is indeed challenging, but since Mr. Calhoun believes in me, I won’t let you down.”
“Since Ms. Norton has accepted my proposal, I will look forward to it”
Agustin’s smile was gentle
Jaelynn knew very well that the path of a designer was not easy. What she had once given up, she now had to fight for herself.
“With such a generous client, I will make sure to prepare well.”
She saw Agustin holding the stone carving of the flying bird and laughed, “Does Mr. Calhoun like this? It’s yours.”
“Then I’ll gladly accept it.”
Agustin truly liked this lifelike carving..
At that moment, the gardener finished planting all the hydrangeas in the yard.
Looking out from the large window of the studio, the view of blooming flowers outside was delightful.
“Thank you for the flowers, Mr. Calhoun. I really like them.”
“It is my pleasure.”
Dusk was falling.
Agustin checked the time and stood up, saying, “It’s getting late, so I won’t keep you any longer.”
Alright, once I finish the design sketch, I’ll send it to you.”
“Contact me anytime.”
anytime.”
After Jaelynn saw Agustin off.
She tidied up briefly, then went outside to take out the trash.
However, she noticed that the eye–catching Rolls–Royce was still parked outside.
Jaelynn walked over in confusion and knocked on the rear window.
The window rolled down.
Agustin was leaning against the seat, his brows slightly furrowed, looking unwell.
“Mr. Calhoun, are you feeling unwell?”
“I’ve been busy with work lately and haven’t rested well. I have a bit of a headache.”
