“No,” he answered coldly.
Sean couldn’t help but feel surprised. The Ramirez family was practically ruined. How could Maureen still stay silent?
He mused, “Is she really over you?
“I heard her mother and brother have been frantically looking for her, but no one knows where she is.”
Sean kept blabbering.
Geoffrey frowned impatiently.
“Get out!”
Sean was startled.
Only then did he notice the displeased look on Geoffrey’s face.
He quickly stepped out of Geoffrey’s office and made a call. “Have you found Maureen?”
“Yes. She’s in a motel in Rushham,” his assistant said.
Sean had his assistant text him the motel address before driving there.
If it weren’t for Maureen, Geoffrey would have been together with Andrea for over three years by now. Though Mau- reen had agreed to a divorce, he wouldn’t let her off so easily.
After all, Andrea had once saved his life. He felt obliged to do something for her.
It was raining.
After finishing the volunteer work, Maureen went to the hospital to fetch her medication. Then she walked toward the motel while holding an umbrella.
There were only a few pedestrians on the street.
While driving, Sean fixed his gaze on Maureen.
He deliberately sped up and drove past her.
A puddle splashed across her at once.
She looked over, her gaze hollow.

He happened to meet it through the rearview mirror, which sent an inexplicable chill down his spine.
She recognized his car–a luxurious dark gray Bugatti.
Saying nothing, she averted her gaze, as if she hadn’t seen him at all.
Yet he wouldn’t leave her alone. He slowed down the car, following her like a shadow. “Someone’s got a nerve. You actually ignored me when you saw me?
“This is so unlike you. You used to go all out to fawn over me, didn’t you?”
Maureen felt nothing at his insults.
When she was obsessed with Geoffrey, she’d tried to please everyone around him.
She’d figured that one day, his family and friends would accept her.
But she’d been so naive.
At a party, Sean told her bluntly that he was friends with Andrea.
To side with Andrea, he called her a shameless bitch, totally casting aside all dignity and the manners of an elite heir.
He even threw her into the swimming pool and watched coldly as she struggled.
From that day on, she always steered clear of him.
Noticing her silence, Sean pulled over, opened the door, strode toward her, and gripped her arm.
“What stunt are you pulling this time?”
Her arm ached as she looked up at him. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
She wanted to pry his fingers open, but he shoved her away.
“Don’t touch me. Your touch makes my skin crawl,” he spat.
Staggering back several steps, she collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud.
Standing in place, he stared at her in disbelief.
He had no idea she was this good at playing the victim.
He merely gave her a gentle push. Yet she fell just like that?
Noticing several onlookers‘ gazes, he got back into his car slightly uneasily.
Before driving off, he warned her, “Maureen, stop leveraging your disability to pick on Andie. Unlike you, she’s gone through a lot to get where she is today. I’m warning you–stay away from her and Geoffrey from now on.”
On the way back, he “kindly” told the Ramirez family where Maureen currently lived.
