Chapter 2 From twins to triplets

“You bumped into me,” Fourth Adler said in a childish voice, wearing sunglasses but with a reproachful look

in her eyes.

Hugo was amused by her “small temper.” He crouched down and helped her up, “Little one, are you alright?”

“Of course I’m not…” Before she could finish, Fourth was stunned by the handsome face looming closer. As a

face-connoisseur, the man before her was truly “heart-stirring.” And he even looked somewhat familiar.

“Of course I’m not alright. Who knows where I might be hurt?” Her childish tone carried a hint of ulterior

motive.

It was obvious that the little girl was fine. Hugo smiled, “Well then, should I take you to the hospital?”

“Oh, that won’t be necessary,” Fourth replied. “How about this? Let’s add each other on social media. If

anything happens, I can contact you.” As she spoke, Fourth took out her phone and said without giving him a

chance to refuse, “I’ll add you.”

The girl was a picture of clever, rosy-cheeked cuteness, inspiring instant affection. Hugo didn’t think much of

it, took out his phone, and opened his social media app. He barely used the app, and it was more like an

ornament in his phone.

After adding him, Fourth nodded in satisfaction. “Alright, mister, that’s it for today. We’ll keep in touch online!”

“Where are your parents?” They had been chatting for quite a while, and the child’s parents hadn’t shown up.

Fourth Adler frowned slightly. “Dads are like unicorns-hard to find!” With that, she shook her head and walked away.

Hugo watched her go, smiling helplessly. What a precocious child.

“Let’s go, Brother,” Fourth said.

First looked at her. “What took you so long?”

Fourth smiled mysteriously. “I met a super handsome man near the restroom. I thought he was a celebrity,

but sadly, he wasn’t.”

Seeing Fourth Adler’s infatuated expression, First walked forward as if he hadn’t heard her.

Second leaned in. “Could he be more handsome than your amazing brother here?”

“Actually, I think he looks a lot like you guys, more like Brother First to be precise!” She nodded earnestly.

Second glanced at First’s back. He was handsome, alright. Just looking at him now, you could imagine what

a devastatingly handsome man he would become in the future.

“If Brother First looks this handsome, what do you think our Daddy looks like?” Second said, immersed in

fantasy.

“He must be super handsome too!” Fourth said dreamily.

“Ugh, this damned good looks of ours are going to be the death of us!” Second sighed dramatically.

Just then, they heard First Adler’s voice, “Grandpa!”

Fourth snapped out of her thoughts and looked at the old man standing not far away. Although his hair was

white, she felt an inexplicable sense of warmth. “Grandpa!” she rushed over and threw herself into William

Adler’s arms. “Grandpa, I’ve finally met you! I missed you so much.”

William held the little girl in his arms, his hands trembling slightly. They had only communicated through video calls for the past few years. Now he was so excited that he didn’t know what to say. “Grandpa missed you too, missed all of you!” he said, looking at the two boys still standing there.

“Grandpa!” Second also went over and gave him a big hug.

“Good, good!” William was so excited that his eyes turned red. The Adler Family had few descendants, and seeing his three grandchildren now filled him with overwhelming emotion.

First Adler was reserved and don’t like to express his emotions. He watched them with a faint smile on his

face.

“Alright, let’s head back now, we can talk when we get home!” William beckoned them to get into the car.

Rising Sun Tech Company.

Even before Scarlett Adler arrived, Rising Sun Tech was already buzzing with gossip.

“Did you hear? The programmer coming to the company today is a woman.”

“So? Although there are fewer female programmers, it’s not that rare, is it?”

“I was hoping a woman would come to boost the company’s morale, but you haven’t seen her photo. All the

guys in the design department are completely disillusioned!” Some women at the front desk were joking

around.

“Is it that bad? Are you exaggerating?”

“I’ve got a photo here, take a look!” One of the girls took out her phone and showed Scarlett Adler’s only

photo.

“Holy crap, is she from the ’80s? She… grew up in the countryside?” Someone asked.

“I’m telling you, how can anyone be this outdated these days? Looking at her face, she’s not that ugly, but her

vibe, her style… it’s really hard to describe.”

“See? I told you! The guys in the programming department have been throwing themselves on the floor and weeping!”

Several women gathered around, laughing at the photo on the phone.

Just then, the elevator dinged open.

The manager came out with Scarlett Adler. “Ms. Adler, this way, please.”

Scarlett followed behind, still wearing a mask. She usually didn’t like to wear makeup when flying, so the

mask was to hide her face. This was Fourth’s requirement, and over time, it had become a habit.

Seeing the manager come out, they immediately stopped laughing and started snickering.

“Manager.”

“Quickly, make a cup of coffee.”

“Yes!” The receptionist immediately went to make coffee, not forgetting to take another look at Scarlett

before leaving. What a beauty. She just radiates elegance.

“Actually, I didn’t want to trouble you to come today, but the situation is really tricky,” the manager explained.

“It’s okay, I have time anyway!” Scarlett replied.

“That’s good, let’s go. The programming department is this way.” The manager led Scarlett inside.

As soon as they left, the women gathered around again. “Who is that?”

“I don’t know, never seen her before!”

“Could she be some a celebrity?”

“I don’t think so. Celebrities always have assistants with them when they go out, and the way the manager

was talking to her, she doesn’t seem like a celebrity!”

“Let’s go, let’s go take a look.”

The Programming Department.

The manager walked in and clapped his hands, looking at the busy staff. “Everyone, let me introduce you. This is Ms. Scarlett Adler. As you all have probably heard, she’ll be joining our company next Monday. She just returned from overseas today, so I specially invited her to come and help us with the final push..”

The men in the Programming Department paused slightly when they saw Scarlett.

Scarlett removed her mask and said, “Hello everyone, I’m Scarlett Adler. Sorry for the mess – no makeup

today, so I’m looking a bit rough around the edges.”

The moment she removed her mask, no joke, not only the men in the Programming Department, but also the women chatting outside the door, and even the manager who brought her in, were slightly stunned.

Suddenly, phrases like “flawless, porcelain skin,” “skin as smooth as cream,” and “a complexion as pure as white paper” took on a whole new meaning. They saw it, right there in front of them.

She had a small, perfectly oval face and flawless skin. Her upturned eyes weren’t too big, but her dark pupils sparkled like stars. Paired with her waist-length hair, she looked ethereal.

The hell was this really the same person from the photos?

The manager was the first to recover, almost losing his composure. “Let’s all give her a warm welcome!”

The Programming Department then erupted in applause.

Several onlookers outside started whispering, “Is that the same person from the photo? Or is it just someone with the same name?”
