Broken Ch 11
Chapter 11 She won by outmaneuvering her.
A new day began.
Scarlett Adler mentioned possibly picking them up from school to meet the school principal, who apparently
looked like a popular star. This made Fourth Adler very excited, and she woke up early to prepare Scarlett’s
outfit.
Scarlett didn’t really care what she wore, but Fourth had high standards and wanted to dress her up like a
fashion blogger every day.
Fortunately, Scarlett had fair skin, long, slender legs, so she could pull off any outfit, looking both ethereal
and beautiful.
She was the kind of woman that other women would envy and men would take a second look at.
Scarlett rarely woke up early, but during breakfast, Fourth looked at her and said, “Mommy, I hope you can
maintain your beauty until you pick us up this afternoon.”
“I only said I might go today, not that I definitely will.”
“It’s okay. I’ll just dress you up beautifully every day. Eventually, you’ll go.”
Fourth’s personality was such that she wouldn’t give up until she achieved her goal.
Scarlett nodded helplessly. “Okay, okay!”
“Okay, Mommy, we’re off,” First Adler said. “Don’t work too hard today.”
“Be good.”
“Bye, Mommy!” Second Adler waved.
“Listen to your grandfather.”
“We will!”

Watching the three little ones leave, Scarlett Adler continued to lounge at the dining table, eating breakfast,
as lazy as a cat.
As they headed downstairs, Second Adler looked at Fourth Adler and asked, “Are you really going to find
Mommy a boyfriend?”
“Yep!” Fourth Adler, dressed in pink and carrying a cute teddy bear backpack, answered directly and
efficiently.
“Don’t you want to find Daddy anymore?” Second Adler asked.
William Adler stood in front of them, listening to their conversation. These three little geniuses weren’t
holding back at all.
Fourth Adler thought for a moment. “I don’t think it’s a problem. What if our daddy isn’t a good person? There
must be a reason why Mommy left, right? We can’t let our selfish desire to find Daddy ruin Mommy’s life, can
we?” Fourth Adler said.
“But…”
“I think Fourth has a point,” First Adler added.
“Bro, you’re just messing around with Fourth,” said First Adler.
First looked at Second, “Mom’s happiness is the most important thing. I’m asking you, if Mom didn’t want us
to look, would you still look?”
“Uh… no,” Second replied truthfully.
“Even though Mom has never stopped us, as her children, we should also care about her feelings,” First said.
Second listened and was actually convinced. “Actually, I don’t really want to find Dad. I just want to figure out what happened… but compared to Mom’s happiness, she’s definitely more important.”
First patted him on the shoulder. “The truth will come out eventually.”
William Adler, standing at the front of the elevator, couldn’t help but cough lightly. Fortunately, this was a
little secret between the siblings. Now they were discussing it so openly in front of him, as if he didn’t exist.
However, hearing their final conclusion, he felt relieved. These three kids were more mature than they should
be at their age.
At that moment, Fourth Adler tugged on William’s sleeve, tilted her head, and asked cutely, “Grandpa, you
won’t tell Mom about our conversation, right?”
William Adler grinned sheepishly at her, “No, Grandpa’s hearing isn’t great. He didn’t hear anything!”
“I told you, Grandpa wouldn’t say anything.”
The three of them were quite the little rascals.
Early the next morning.
Scarlett Adler had barely arrived at the office when the manager called her in.
Upon entering the office, she found Tiana Young was already there.
The manager looked at Scarlett Adler, “Mr. Young would like to have a word with you.”
Scarlett Adler glanced at Tiana Young and nodded, “Alright.”
Unexpectedly, Tiana Young looked at the manager, “Manager Yan, I’d like to speak with Ms. Adler alone. You don’t mind, do you?”
The implication was clear: he was being asked to leave.
The manager was taken aback for a moment, then immediately smiled and said, “Of course not, take your time. I actually have some errands to run.” With that, he left, thoughtfully closing the door behind him.

Tiana Young sat on the sofa, legs crossed, striking a superior pose.

“Have a seat, Ms. Adler,” she said.
Scarlett Adler sneered inwardly. “Would you like some coffee?” she asked, then pressed the intercom button
on her desk. “Please bring Ms. Young a cup of coffee.”
“No, thank you, I don’t care for instant coffee.”
“Then just bring me a cup, please. Thank you,” she said, hanging up the phone.
Tiana Young looked at her. Most women would feel intimidated in her presence, but Scarlett Adler showed no
fear.
Soon, a cup of coffee was delivered. After the person left, Scarlett walked over and sat opposite her, slowly

sipping her coffee. “Ms. Young, what can I do for you? Please, tell me.”
When it came to being assertive, Scarlett Adler was never a loser.
Having cultivated a lazy nature since childhood, she had been whipped into shape by her three little ones
over the years and rarely acted out.
But in the face of an overbearing person, Scarlett’s attitude was enough to infuriate anyone.
Tiana Young hadn’t been able to find any information about her. She had come feeling unsure, so she tried to
intimidate her, but found that this woman didn’t fall for it.
“What’s your relationship with Hugo Hodges?” Tiana Young was forced to get straight to the point.
“So, Ms. Young, is this a personal matter?” Scarlett Adler retorted.
Tiana Young looked at her and said, “It could be business or personal, depending on how Ms. Adler interprets
it.”
Scarlett Adler pondered for a moment, nodded, and then watched her slowly sip her coffee. “What do you
think?”
“You-”
“Ms. Young came to me without even knowing the relationship between him and me. Isn’t that a bit hasty?”
Scarlett Adler retorted.
Being arrogant and respecting others are two different things.
Scarlett Adler treated people the way they treated her.
Tiana Young was immediately overwhelmed by Scarlett Adler’s aura. “Scarlett Adler, I don’t care if you and Hugo Hodges know each other or what your past is, but now, there’s no possibility between you.”
“Yeah, I know!” Scarlett Adler nodded, acting as if she didn’t care at all.
“Since you know, then don’t pester him anymore,” Tiana Young said.

Scarlett Adler couldn’t help but laugh. “Are you mistaken about something? When have you ever seen me
pester him? Please tell Mr. Hodges that.”
“I just told him to stop bothering me.”
Tiana stared at her, as if trying to see right through her.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll get back to work. Please pass on my thanks to Mr. Hodges.” With that, Scarlett got
up to leave.
“If you want this project, I can make it happen for you,” Tiana suddenly said.
Scarlett turned back to look at her.
“Actually, who gets the project is up to me. It doesn’t really matter to us which company we use,” Tiana said,
trying to bait her, once again positioning herself as the winner.
