No Mercy, No Forgiveness Novel Ch 137

Katherine hadn’t expected to deal with Sean earlier only to encounter this harpy now.

Heather had bullied Maureen relentlessly in the past.

Katherine gave her a cold stare: “What if I am?”

Heather stiffened.

Her secretary moved to reprimand Katherine, but Heather stopped him.

A soft smile spread across Heather’s face.

This inexplicable expression bewildered Katherine.

Having attended galas with her father years ago, she’d seen Heather multiple times – never once had the woman smiled. Why now?

“Jacob is absolutely precious. Might he visit the Sutton Family with Willie for a few days?”

Heather adored Jacob so much she’d lowered her stance.

Expecting immediate agreement, she instead heard Katherine hull coldly: “No. I won’t risk my son in unfamiliar places with questionable people,”

With that, Katherine glanced meaningfully at Jacob.

Jacob readily complied: “Grandma, goodbye.”

Heather watched the figures of one adult and one child walking away, her face etched with disappointment.

Her secretary nearby received an update–intel Heather had requested earlier on Geoffrey’s recent activities.

She promptly informed Heather: “Wayne’s contacts say Mr. Geoffrey has been keeping a child in Karaville for over half a month.”

After returning, Jacob pondered how he must stay vigilant wherever

he went.

Ethan had already been discovered by Geoffrey; he couldn’t afford the

same fate.

He swiftly operated his bedroom computer, soon establishing a connection with Ethan’s communication device.

Just yesterday, he’d stealthily breached their Country Villa firewall to link up with Ethan.

Geoffrey had only confiscated Ethan’s smartwatch, unaware he still clutched a miniature comms device.

Night.

Ethan lay in his hospital bed, spotting faint light from the button–sized gadget and pressing it to his car

“Bro.”

“You doing okay lately?”

Jacob asked.

“Pretty good. Geoffrey assigned tons of caretakers–I get whatever I want daily.”

Ethan gazed into the ink–black night outside.

If it weren’t for my illness, Mom wouldn’t have come back here. We could’ve still lived peacefully together as a family.

“That’s good.”

Jacob felt relieved.

If Ethan was having a hard time, he’d stop at nothing to bring him

back.

But that was just wishful thinking.

He was still too young, with limited power to protect Mom or even his little brother.

“Bro, there’s something I want to ask you.”

“What is it?”

“Is Geoffrey really that bad?”

Ethan first questioned this when he pranked Geoffrey, yet the man never laid a hand on him–not even when genuinely furious.

“Why would you ask that?

A man who abandoned his wife and children–isn’t that bad enough?”

Jacob thought his brother was too sensitive and kind–hearted.

Ethan disagreed. “Bro, I think he loves Mom.”

Jacob froze at those words.

Ethan continued, “You know I saw Mom, right?

On her birthday. Geoffrey personally brought her over.”

“The way he looked at Mom… it didn’t seem like hatred. More like… like he was holding something back…..”

Sickly since childhood, Ethan had always been more perceptive than

other kids.

He judged people through subtle gestures.

“That’s it?”

Jacob didn’t believe it.

Throughout his childhood, though Mom never spoke ill of Geoffrey, he’d often find her awake at night, crying alone. Sometimes, she’d even call out Geoffrey’s name…

He’d also investigated Mom’s past with Geoffrey.

Without exception, nothing proved Geoffrey ever loved her.

Ethan told Jacob everything about messing with Geoffrey.

Jacob listened silently, lost in thought.

Truthfully, if Geoffrey truly loved Mom, he’d want them together.

But what if he didn’t…

“It’s getting late, you should rest.

This call is risky–taking too long could get us caught.”

“Okay.”

Ethan reluctantly watched the device’s light fade.

Resting occupied most of his days, leaving him wide awake now. Gazing at the starlight outside, he murmured,

“If Geoffrey isn’t bad… if he really loves Mom… should we forgive him?”

As he spoke, his bones ached sharply. Cold sweat beaded densely across his forehead and face.

Gritting his teeth against the pain, he answered coldly: “No. Absolutely not.”

The depth of his pain mirrored the depth of his resentment toward Geoffrey,

Resented him for abandoning Mommy for another woman.

Resented him for never knowing about his own children…

Pearl.

After Geoffrey came back, all the pollen–heavy flowers were removed from the garden.

Maureen thought Andrea would return with him today to see his masterpiece.

Unexpectedly, he came back alone.

“Had dinner?”

Geoffrey saw her sitting alone in the living room, writing something.

Maureen nodded. “Yeah, I ate.”

Geoffrey glanced toward the dining room–spotless.

“I didn’t order food for you since I thought you wouldn’t be back.”

Maureen replied.

Before, she’d always prepare his favorite dishes regardless of whether he came home.

Most times, Geoffrey wouldn’t even touch his chopsticks.

After Maureen went abroad and became pregnant with Ethan and Jacob, work consumed her for their future.
