Kendall just hummed in response.[]
After lunch, she went to Elijah’s room but found it empty.[]

Looking at the empty room, Kendall couldn’t help but let out a self–deprecating smile.[]
She pulled out her phone and glanced at the messages Elijah had sent over the past few days.[]
“Kendall, I’m a bit bored. Come keep me company, okay?“]
“We haven’t seen each other in three days. Don’t you miss me?“]
“Don’t be mad. I’ll get you a gift when I get out, okay?“[]
If she didn’t know about Tiffany, Kendall might have thought Elijah was so clingy because he loved her.
But after seeing him genuinely in love with another person, she couldn’t fool herself anymore.
Back home alone, Kendall contacted her real estate agent to put her apartment on the market.
Over the next few days, seven potential buyers came to
view the place.
To sell it quickly, she lowered the price to the bare minimum.]
On the day of the sale, she had just signed the contract when Elijah returned.
Seeing the realtor with the company sign, surprise flashed in his eyes.
“Kendall, you’re selling the apartment?”
Not planning to hide anything from him, she nodded.
He raised an eyebrow and casually scanned the room. “I think this place is a bit small anyway. You should move to my villa in West Mountain. I’ve had it for years, and it’s been sitting empty.“]
Kendall didn’t respond either way. After sending off the realtor, she changed the subject. “Are you better?”
“Yeah, Kendall. I knew you still cared about me.‘
Elijah grinned and wrapped his arm around her waist, leaning in to kiss her.
His warm breath brushed against her face, and she instinctively stepped back.
In his shocked gaze, she maintained her composure and lied.[]
“Just got my period.“]
Elijah sighed softly. “Kendall, it’s not like I think about that thing every day. It’s just been so long since we’ve seen each other. Can’t I just want to kiss you?“]

“You wanted to move to the villa in West Mountain, right? I’m just clearing some clutter.“]
Kendall casually came up with an excuse to throw Elijah off her trail. She noticed he was aware of her low mood, so that night, he insisted on taking her to an auction.[]
When they arrived at the venue, a series of jewelry pieces came up for bidding. Without a second thought, Elijah bid on all of them.]
Everyone in the exhibition hall shot Kendall envious glances, but she couldn’t muster any excitement.]
Just as she was about to get up, Elijah’s phone rang. She glanced at the screen and saw it was Tiffany. Silently, she turned to head to the washroom.[]

Feeling her heart race, she pushed against the tide of people back to the exhibition room, only to find Elijah furiously confronting a
man.
The guy looked pretty beaten up and was yelling defensively. “The girl you just called? I slept with her several times during my time in Eurpoland. She’s wild, getting involved with all sorts of international students, Even if you kill me today, it’s the truth–I have photos and videos on my phone!“]
Seeing that trembling man holding out his phone, Elijah’s face turned
crimson with rage, and his temple throbbed.[]
