Chapter 22 The Whole Package

Tina took Yakira to Group One and led her to a workstation at

the very end.

“Ms. Wilkinson, I’m sorry. This is the only vacant spot,” Tina said

expressionlessly.

It was next to the restroom, so naturally, no one wanted to sit

there.

Yakira smiled, “It’s fine.”

She was an outsider, and it made sense that no one liked her.

Anyway, she wouldn’t be here long; it didn’t matter where she

sat.

If Brayden really wanted to make things difficult for her,

nothing she said could change anything.

She might as well save her breath.

“Ms. Wilkinson, this is the introduction of the new product.”

Tina put a document on her desk and then left.

Yakira sat down, opened it, and read through the product

The Blanchard Group was about to launch a smartphone this

time, signaling its expansion into the mobile phone industry.

The Blanchard Group had diversified business interests,

covering every aspect of life.

The group also took the mobile phone industry seriously.

The smartphone, their new product, had a couple of unique

functions that weren’t available on any other phone.

It was equipped with holographic projection technology and

could retouch photos based on users‘ facial features, saving the

trouble of manual adjustments.

Users could accept or reject calls via voice commands.

Most importantly, it came with an unbreakable security system.

Once its owner set a password and was recognized by the

system, no one else could hack it.

Except for the owner, no one else could operate the phone even

with the password, which guaranteed financial safety.

There was even an alarm system installed; it could

automatically detect any possible danger approaching and then

Because of those features, everyone in Zorvar was mostly

looking forward to the launch.

Such an unparalleled, impeccable phone was designed by

Brayden himself and the team he led.

Yakira fell for him at first sight because of his striking look.

But his talent was the reason why she had loved him so deeply

for years.

He was the whole package.

Yakira soon started to immerse herself in work, writing down

her understanding and thoughts about the new phone.

The logo design would be based on those.

None of the designers in this world would work arbitrarily.

By the time she finished, it was noon already.

Everyone else in the office had headed to lunch.

No one had invited her.

She packed up simply and headed out of the office.

Minnie and Abel were at home, waiting for her.

Two hours should be enough.

She ran out of the elevator and crashed into Brayden’s embrace.

He squinted, and before he could say anything, she said

hurriedly, “I’m sorry.” 

With that, she strode toward the entrance.

Brayden didn’t think she saw his face.

Being ignored annoyed him.

“This is working hours. Is this how employees of CK Design

Studio treat their jobs?”

He grabbed her, looking displeased.

Yakira turned around and looked at him, saying coldly, “Mr.

Blanchard, this is lunch break. What is it? Employees here at the

Blanchard Group aren’t allowed to have lunch breaks?”

Brayden choked up at her words.

“I don’t think so. If I’m wrong, do tell.” She shoved his hand away

and strode out.

Brayden pulled an utterly long face.

Deon aside didn’t even dare to breathe out loud.

He thought, “Mrs. Blanchard was missing for five years, and

now, she’s become much bolder.

“She has never talked to Mr. Blanchard like this before.”

Yakira hailed a cab and went home, and Daron and Minnie

were playing in the living room.

Daron was assembling Legos.

And Minnie was playing with her dolls.

“Abel, Minnie, I’m back. You must be hungry, right?” Yakira

changed into her slippers and strode inside.

Minnie put down the dolls and ran over. “Mommy, we’ve set the

table.”

“Mommy.” Daron ran over, too.

He tried his best to imitate Abel, but being livelier would have

made him more convincing.

Yakira was surprised. “You’ve set the table already?”

“Yes. Grandma taught us before, and we know how, Minnie

said seriously.

Yakira found it hard to believe; after all, the kids were only five.

She walked into the dining room.

Then she indeed saw the table set with plates and cutlery.

“Abel, Minnie, you guys are amazing”

She cupped their faces and pecked on their cheeks.

Daron blushed, beaming.

“Thank you, kiddos. Now go and play while I cook!”

Abel and Minnie saved her a lot of time.

She cooked something casual, which was to Abel and Minnie’s

liking.

After lunch, she hurried back to the Blanchard Group.

It was 2:00 p.m. sharp as she entered the office.

She was informed to attend a meeting before she could sit

down.

“I’m going, too?” she asked with uncertainty.

After all, she didn’t work for the Blanchard Group.

Tina glanced at her before saying coldly, “It’s about the new

product. Ms. Wilkinson, it’s best if you sit in!”

“OK.” She nodded.

She didn’t mind Tina’s attitude.

After all, Brayden had asked her to report to the Blanchard

Group to target her.

It was only logical that his employees treated her coldly.

During the past five years, she had endured relentless

humiliation and repeated reprimands just to survive.

Her pride as the noble heiress of the Wilkinson family was

already gone when she stayed by Brayden’s side, let alone now.

She put down her bag, took her laptop, and entered the

conference room.

The seat at the very end was empty, so she walked over. But

before she could sit down, an employee came over and said,

“Sorry, this seat is taken.””

She nodded and walked away.

Fiona said, “Ms. Wilkinson, I’m sorry. All the Design Department

staff are here, and there’s only one seat for each. I’m afraid you’ll

have to stand.”

She smiled, “Alright.”

Couldn’t they find a chair in the vast Blanchard Group?

She knew they were picking on her deliberately.

The meeting went on for more than two hours, and she stood

throughout the whole time without complaining.

“Ms. Wilkinson, remember the assignment I gave you earlier?

Now that we’re all here, care to elaborate?” Fiona’s gaze fell

upon her.

She nodded. “Sure.”

Luckily, she had prepared it in the morning.

She had just arrived in the morning and spent the entire

afternoon in their meeting.

And now, Fiona asked her for her presentation.

Clearly, she was being given a hard time.

She placed the laptop on the conference table and was about to
