As soon as it was time to leave work, Scarlett Adler’s phone rang right on schedule. “Mommy, are you off
work yet?” Fourth Adler’s expectant voice came through the phone.
“You called right on the dot. What can I say?”
“Does that mean you don’t have to work late today?”
Scarlett knew his little thoughts all too well. “Yes, I don’t have to work late. I’ll come pick you up in a bit.”
“Yay! We’ll be waiting for you!” Fourth sounded exceptionally excited.
“Okay!” After hanging up, Scarlett quickly packed her things and clocked out.
The workplace was half an hour’s drive from the school. When Scarlett arrived, there were hardly any people
left at the school.
Scarlett called Fourth. “I’m here. Where are you guys?”
“Oops, I forgot to tell you, Mommy. Grandpa came to pick us up,” Fourth said.
“What about me then?”
Just as Scarlett finished her question, a voice sounded from above her. “Are you Fourth Adler’s mother, Ms.
Scarlett Adler?”
Scarlett Adler looked up at the sound of a voice. A gentleman stood before her, and she immediately
recognized him as the headmaster Fourth Adler had mentioned.
Dressed in black pants and a black shirt, he stood tall and looked full of energy. His face did indeed resemble
Yang Yang; he was quite handsome.
No wonder Fourth was so infatuated.
On the other end of the phone, Fourth also heard the headmaster’s voice and said with a laugh, “Mommy, you
two chat, I’m going to hang up now!”
Before Scarlett could say anything, the call ended.
Scarlett awkwardly put away her phone and nodded at the man in front of her. “That’s me.”
“Fourth has been picked up by their grandfather. He said he couldn’t reach you, so he asked me to wait here
and tell you,” the headmaster said.
“Thank you. My phone… had no signal,” Scarlett said, telling a rare lie.
The headmaster smiled. “I’m Yale Lowe.” He extended his hand.
“I’m Scarlett Adler.” Scarlett shook his hand politely.

“I know. I often hear Fourth mention you,” Yale said, his gaze sincere and gentle.
Compared to dealing with a man like Hugo Hodges, she suddenly felt a bit flustered in front of Yale Lowe.
“Would you like to grab a cup of coffee?” Yale asked.
Huh?
“Isn’t that what Fourth wanted?” Yale said honestly.
Scarlett Adler suddenly smiled and nodded. “Sure!”
“I know a nice place, but we’ll have to drive there.” He gestured toward the car parked outside.
Scarlett Adler nodded, and they both got into the car.
Yale Lowe was the epitome of a gentleman, his every move filled with grace and elegance. He didn’t say
much, but his words were heartfelt and refreshing.
“Fourth mentioned that you just returned from overseas?” he asked.
Scarlett Adler nodded. “Yes, we just got back a week ago.”
“It must be tough raising three kids on your own,” Yale asked.
“To be honest, they’re the ones taking care of me,” she admitted, not wanting to hide anything.
Yale couldn’t help but smile. “Your three kids are all adorable and well-behaved.”
Scarlett Adler didn’t deny it. “Indeed, they really are adorable.”
The two chatted casually until they arrived at the coffee shop Yale had mentioned.
The shop had a great atmosphere quiet and stylish. They sat down at a window soat

Just then, Hugo’s car passed by. He had a headache from drinking the night before and was in a bad mood.
His eyes wandered outside and he spotted Scarlett sitting by the window with a man.
“Stop the car,” he suddenly said.
The driver immediately pulled over.
Hugo’s position gave him a clear view of Scarlett’s table. He could see everything they were doing.
Tiana, who was sitting next to Hugo, was puzzled by his behavior. But when she followed his gaze, she
immediately understood.
What you least want to encounter, you often do.
Seeing Hugo’s emotions stirred, Tiana took a deep breath and looked away. “I went to Rising Sun Tech today.”
Hugo, hearing this, turned to look at Tiana.
“I also spoke with this Ms. Adler, and she asked for a million dollars.”
Hugo Hodges frowned deeply. “What are you talking about?”
“I don’t know what your relationship with this Ms. Adler is, but I don’t want her to affect you, so I gave her the
money.”
“She took it?” Hugo asked, incredulous.
He thought of Scarlett’s actions, but no matter how she handled it, Tiana believed she had taken the money.
Tiana nodded. “Yes, she did.” She added, “So now, it seems she’s found a new target.”
Hugo’s face grew even more troubled.
Tiana said, “Hugo, the company is currently expanding. Don’t let your emotions affect your work. Any negative news could be detrimental to our projects!”
Hugo didn’t respond. He couldn’t take in anything she was saying.
Scarlett…
When they divorced, he offered her money, but she vehemently refused.
Now she had accepted a million dollars?
He was truly impressed.
“Drive,” Hugo Hodges said.
The driver, hearing this, started the car and drove off.
Tiana Young sat beside him, watching without a word.
She was certain that Hugo Hodges would no longer be interested in a woman he had paid off.
Even if they had a somewhat different past, things should end here.
Looking at the documents in her hand, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Yale Lowe and Scarlett Adler were having a good conversation.
Yale Lowe was considerate, gentle, and made people feel comfortable in every way.
Scarlett Adler, with her straightforward and unreserved personality, found a kindred spirit in him.
Since Scarlett Adler didn’t have many friends, she felt a strong liking for Yale Lowe.
She thought to herself that a man like him would make anyone happy, whether as a friend or a husband.
“Actually, I think you were tricked by Fourth today. My phone works perfectly fine. She deliberately set you up
to meet me!” As they talked, Scarlett Adler told the truth.
Yale Lowe wasn’t surprised at all. “Actually, it’s not me who was tricked by Fourth, but you!”
“What do you mean?” Scarlett asked.

“Fourth talks about you all the time, so I became curious. It was my idea to meet you, and Fourth helped me
out,” Yale explained.
Scarlett was surprised; it was the first time someone had put so much thought into meeting her.
“So, you’re the one who was tricked,” Yale said.
Scarlett finally understood and nodded. “I see.”
“You’re not angry, are you?”
“No,” Scarlett replied, shaking her head. “Because I also enjoy seeing handsome guys.”
Yale’s appearance was comparable to that of a popular star, and Scarlett enjoyed admiring handsome men.
She didn’t lose out on this meeting.
