Chapter 16 Mr. Hodges is really rich.
Looking at the expectant and gossipy eyes, Scarlett Adler asked, “Are you all so worried that I won’t get
married?”
“How could we be?” William Adler denied. “Although being single isn’t bad, if you meet someone suitable, you
should give it a try. And when I get old, wouldn’t it be nice to have someone to take care of you, be with you,
and protect you?”
“I’d still rather have Grandpa with me,” Scarlett Adler said, eating her dessert, unwilling to admit that such a
day would come.

East Hayes didn’t know what Hugo Hodges was thinking and didn’t have high hopes, but he presented his
revised project.
Everyone listened, their brows furrowing. How was it different from before?
However, Scarlett Adler’s expression didn’t show a hint of surprise.
Hugo Hodges, looking all business, said, “If I remember correctly, this time is slightly different from the last?”
East Hayes didn’t deny it. “Yes, I didn’t consider enough before. It was a bit thin, so I’ve added completeness

After Scarlett Adler spoke that day, East Hayes did revise the project.

Hugo Hodges nodded. “Okay, let’s proceed with this one.” Turning to the manager beside him, he said,
“Prepare the contract.”
The manager was stunned.
East Hayes was taken aback.
Everyone on the project team was dumbfounded.
Only Scarlett Adler remained expressionless. Whatever Hugo Hodges’s purpose was this time, Scarlett Adler
was prepared to deal with it.
It took the manager a while to recover from the shock. He hadn’t had much hope for the project, thinking
Hugo Hodges was just messing around or doing it for Scarlett Adler.
Unexpectedly, this time it worked out.

Group would allow their company to walk sideways in the industry. They would have a steady stream of
projects coming in… Why worry about money?
Everyone seemed excited.
Only Scarlett Adler frowned slightly.
“Mr. Hodges, is what you’re saying… true?” the manager asked incredulously.
He knew that for a company like the Hodges Family Group, even collaborating once was like a fantasy. Being
able to achieve a long-term partnership was like sending him to heaven.
“What, you’re not willing?” Hugo Hodges retorted.
“No, no, no!” Manager Yan shook his head, his words tumbling over each other. “I couldn’t be happier, it’s an honor, how could I refuse? Mr. Hodges, you’re too kind!” Manager Yan said, his eyes filled with tears of gratitude.
“In that case, let’s prepare the contract for signing,” Hugo Hodges said casually.

“Yes, yes, I’ll go prepare it right away.” Manager Yan turned to leave, but then worried about neglecting Hugo
Hodges. “Mr. Hodges, please rest for a moment, I’ll be right back.”

Manager Yan couldn’t worry about anything else and hurried off to prepare the contract.
Inside the conference room, it was clear to everyone that Hugo Hodges was doing this entirely because of
Scarlett Adler.
They couldn’t help but speculate about their relationship. Even if they had some reservations about Scarlett
Adler, they couldn’t be honest about it, unable to ignore the significant benefits she brought.
Soon, the manager prepared two copies of the contract.
The contract was signed right then and there.
The manager and Manager Yan finally felt relieved as they watched the signature being penned.
“Mr. Hodges, thank you for your support of our company. Please stay for dinner tonight. Our boss is currently
out of town but is on his way back. He insists on meeting you no matter what.”
“No, thank you. I have other plans for the evening.”
“Well then…”
“Manager Yan, no need to be so polite. We will likely be meeting quite often in the future,” Hugo Hodges said casually.
Manager Yan smiled, but her eyes couldn’t help but drift toward Scarlett Adler.
It wasn’t him they wanted to meet, but someone else entirely…
This was a case of spending a fortune for a beautiful woman!
“Alright, Mr. Hodges, let us know if you need anything,” Manager Yan said.

However, as she turned a corner, Hugo suddenly followed and blocked her path, pinning her against the wall.
Scarlett Adler leaned against the wall. “Did you need something, Mr. Hodges?” She didn’t mind his sudden
closeness; after all, his face was quite pleasing to the eye.
“Don’t you have any comments about what happened today?”
“Mr. Hodges, you’re really rich,” Scarlett said with a smile, but her eyes held a hint of sarcasm.
Hugo Hodges didn’t seem to care, his dark eyes seeming to peer into the depths of her soul. “For a long-term
strategic partnership, you’ll be my point of contact from now on!”
“Damn it.”
