Scarlett felt the welcome ceremony took longer than the time it took her to solve the problem.
She had heard about the project issues before arriving, and had a basic understanding of them. So, when she
saw the problem, it only took her twenty minutes to fix it.
And that included the time she deliberately delayed. After all, solving too quickly the problem that had
troubled them for so long wouldn’t look good. Of course, Scarlett wasn’t that considerate; she just felt it was
better not to stand out too much.
After the issue was resolved, the project manager repeatedly expressed his gratitude. “Ms. Adler, thank you
so much for your hard work today. How about I treat everyone to dinner tonight to welcome you back from
abroad and joining our company?”
Now, the men in the programming department were as excited as if they’d been injected with adrenaline.
They were all clamoring for Scarlett to join them for dinner. Who wouldn’t want to be treated to dinner by the
manager with a beautiful woman present?
Scarlett declined, “I appreciate everyone’s kindness, but I just got back today, and my grandpa is waiting for
me at home, so I have to go back. But after I officially join the company on Monday, I can treat everyone to
dinner to get to know each other.” She finished with a big smile.
Her generosity once again stirred up the entire programming department.
The manager didn’t force her to stay. “Alright, since that’s the case, I won’t insist. I’ll have the driver take you home. We’ll meet again when you officially join on Monday.”
Scarlett put on her mask and left.
Before returning to the country, Scarlett had rented a spacious apartment, five bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living rooms, facing the sun, with a large floor-to-ceiling window and balcony. The layout was very
comfortable.
As soon as they entered, First, Second, and Fourth started unpacking and cleaning up.
First took the lead in tidying up Scarlett’s room before working on his own. The apartment had been
professionally cleaned beforehand, so it was already clean. They just needed to organize their daily
necessities.
Watching his three capable children, who didn’t need anyone to take care of them, but would instead take
care of others, William Adler felt very gratified. He had been worried when Scarlett wanted to have the
children, but now, he thought that fate had been kind to her, giving her such sensible and caring kids.
While they were unpacking, William didn’t sit idle. He prepared a table of dishes, all of Scarlett and the
children’s favorites.
When Scarlett arrived home, she was greeted by a heartwarming scene: warm lights, fragrant food, and her
family gathered together, creating an exceptionally cozy atmosphere.
Living abroad alone had been tough. Being in a foreign land, she constantly missed her grandfather and the
food he made. Now, she was finally back.
This time, she would never endure the pain of separation from her loved ones again.
“Grandpa!” Scarlett called out softly.
William turned around, his eyes instantly reddening upon seeing Scarlett Adler. “My little girl is back.”
Scarlett couldn’t help but rushed to give William a big hug. “Grandpa, I missed you so much.”
William Adler gently patted her back, his joy mixed with relief. “You’re a mother now, and still acting like a
child.”
Scarlett didn’t say anything, tears welling up in her eyes. After being an adult for so long, she just wanted to be a child again.
Knowing the hardships she had faced, William didn’t speak, just patted her like that.

First appeared in the dining room, watching Scarlett and William hugging, the corners of his mouth slightly
curved. He was relieved to see his Mommy happy.
Dinner was lively. Williamr didn’t even bother to eat, putting food on this one’s plate and that one’s plate, the smile on his face never stopping. Seeing William enjoy the family time, Scarlett knew she had made the right
decision.
Returning had risks, but it was all worth it.
William looked at Scarlett. “I’ve found school for the children, just as you requested. The conditions are
excellent in every aspect. I’ll personally take them there on Monday.”
Scarlett smiled, looking at the three little ones. “See? Grandpa personally found the school for you. All of you
need to study hard, or else I won’t be so nice!”
“Oh, Scarlett, which one of us hasn’t inherited your intelligence? You and Grandpa can rest assured about
something as small as studying!” Second said sweetly.
“That’s the best!” Scarlett laughed.
“Scarlett, Grandpa, we’re full. Have a good chat, we’re going to wash up and go to bed!” First said.
“Alright, get some rest!” William’s eyes were full of affection. These children were too adorable.
“But I want to stay with Grandpa!” Fourth didn’t want to leave, snuggling lazily in William’s arms.
So, First gave a look, and Second immediately picked up Fourth and left, scolding as he walked, “Are you dumb? He is doing this so Scarlett can chat with Grandfather alone!”
“But I wanted to chat too!” Fourth’s coquettish voice echoed from a distance.
Watching the children being so sensible, William smiled. “These three kids are very sensible, like gifts from heaven to our family.”
Scarlett didn’t deny it. The Adler family was small and craved family affection. The arrival of these three
children had indeed filled a void in her heart.
After a few seconds of silence, William spoke, “Scarlett, do the children know who their father is?”
Scarlett shook her head. “They haven’t asked.”
“Have you ever thought about letting the children meet their father?”
Speaking of which, Scarlett Adler’s expression turned slightly serious. “Grandpa, they are children of the Adler
Family, they have nothing to do with the Hodges Family.”
“That’s what you say, but if Hugo Hodges finds out… he won’t let it go easily.” William had been worried about
this. After all, the truth will come out eventually, especially since First now looked so much like Hugo. It was
only a matter of time before someone noticed.
“We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. Even if we go to court, the judge will consider the children’s wishes
and who they want to be with!” Scarlett was confident about this. “Besides, he wouldn’t be a good father!”
“Old Hodges is a good man. I don’t know how his grandson turned out this way… If Old Hodges knew you had

“Grandpa Hodges is indeed a nice man, but he’s not destined to be with the children!” Scarlett said.
“I saw in the news that Hugo Hodges is getting engaged soon!” William suddenly said.

“That’s even better,” Scarlett reassured herself. “Once he has his own kids, even if he finds out about First and the others, he probably won’t try to take them away from me!”
