How could she even think of that!
He kept listening silently.
If Maureen took that hundred million, he’d immediately bring her back to Pearl.
She’d never see freedom again!
Yet Maureen pushed the check away, countering Andrea:
“Wasn’t it you who asked what price I’d accept to leave Geoffrey?”
“Why are you setting the price yourself now?”
Andrea froze. When had she ever said that?
Maureen continued coldly:
“I’ve told you before–I want nothing to do with your dirty money.”
“When the Ramirez family fell, you who’d benefited from their patronage did nothing. Why pretend kindness now?”
Andrea stared at Maureen in disbelief: “But you were the one who said-”
“Let me make this clear,” Maureen cut in. “Geoffrey and I are still married. Even if he doesn’t love me, I won’t leave him!”
Maureen’s gaze dropped to the phone Andrea had facedown.
She knew Andrea was likely already on the line with Geoffrey.
Andrea realized Maureen had set her up today.
Fuming, Andrea silently ended the call.
Inside the black Cadillac, Geoffrey listened silently to their exchange before ordering his driver, “Go home.”
In the cafe.
Maureen stood up and walked over to Andrea, then lowered her voice, speaking slowly by her ear:
“You keep saying I’ve changed, right?
So why assume I’d still fall for your tricks like before?”
“Let me tell you–I always knew about your cheap tactics. I just couldn’t be bothered!”

“Next time, try being smarter!”
Andrea’s pitifully delicate face turned terrifyingly dark after hearing Maureen’s words.
Maureen strode out of the cafe. Outside, she checked the location Justin had given her–the car that was parked there earlier had vanished.
She let out a sigh of relief.
Suddenly it struck her: the Geoffrey now was nothing like the young man she’d once loved.
That boy would never scheme so deeply. He’d treat her well, never doubting her…
Maureen absently hailed a cab and left.
Andrea emerged moments later. She’d barely taken a few steps when a man grabbed her wrist, dragging her into a se- cluded spot.
“Andie, I’ve missed you so much.”
The man before her had patchy stubble and intense dark circles under his eyes–clearly he hadn’t slept properly in ages.
Andrea pushed against his chest: “Frank King, how did you track me here?
How many times must I say it? I’m never returning to Los Angeles with you.”
“If you really care about me, go back alone. Don’t stay in Karaville.”
Frank listened, pain flooding his eyes. “Is this because of Geoffrey?
He doesn’t truly care for you. If he did, why hasn’t he married you yet?”
Andrea heard his words, utterly unmoved.
“So what?
At least he gives me what I want.”
Frank froze.
Andrea pressed on, “What can you give me?”
“I…”
“The you now? You can give me nothing.”
Frank shook his head, hands gripping Andrea’s arms tightly. “My company may be gone, but I can still compose. I’ll write music just for you.”
Andrea snorted contemptuously.
“I don’t need your music. You’ve lost your touch. Admit it.”

Frank’s eyes reddened. “How can you be so heartless? If it weren’t for me, would you have gotten this far?
And now… I need you!”
Seeing his fury, Andrea shifted to a coaxing tone.
“Ah–Xu, can’t you grow up?
We all want someone who can support us.”
“Look at what you’ve become?
When I left, you weren’t this much of a wreck.”

Andrea looked at Frank, her eyes sharp. “Five years later, I’m living my best life while you’re still stuck in the mud. Only I’d bother talking to you–any other woman would’ve ditched you ages ago.”
“You think I’m heartless?
That’s just cold!”
Frank grew quiet at her words.
“I’ve been down since losing you.”
Andrea sighed deeply. “But as a man, shouldn’t you protect me?
Am I supposed to support you forever?”
“Frank, you’ve been standing here all along. You saw it, didn’t you?
Someone bullied me, and you did nothing.”
Frank listened silently before releasing her arm, determination blazing in his eyes.
“I can protect you!”
He turned and walked away.
Andrea watched his retreating figure, brushing where he’d grabbed her with venomous eyes.
“Maureen, you think I’m not smart?
Let me show you what real cunning looks like!”
Pearl.
When Maureen came back, Geoffrey hadn’t rested yet.
He sat on the sofa in dark pajamas, his shadowed gaze fixed on Maureen.
“Did you have fun today?”

Chapter115
“It was alright.”
Maureen replied.
Geoffrey stood up, his tall frame instantly blocking most of the light before her.
“Andrea said you want to sell me for ten billion?”
Maureen choked. This guy clearly knew what he was talking about–why ask her?
“I didn’t.”
“Oh?”
Geoffrey leaned in toward her.
