No Mercy, No Forgiveness Novel Ch 20
At that very moment, a sharp pain pierced her. But soon, indifference settled back over her.
Compared to Maureen’s death, soothing Stuart mattered more to her.
Gareth rushed to the nearest hospital.
Maureen was soon wheeled into the OR.
The illuminating light above the door left him utterly anxious, his heart pounding.
An hour later, a doctor suddenly pushed the door open. “The patient’s in a critical condition. Where are her family members?”
Gareth’s heart sank.
“What … happened?”
“Are you a family member of the patient? Sign the critical condition notice. I’m afraid the patient may not make it…” the doctor said.
A wave of desperation caught Gareth.
His usual gentleness vanished as he grabbed the doctor’s collar, roaring, “She has to make it! If she dies, I swear I’ll make sure every one of you dies with her!”
Then he shoved the doctor away.
Just then, a group of renowned medical experts in Karaville rushed over, all in white coats.
They bowed to Gareth. “Mr. Burke.”
Gareth ordered concisely, “Save her.”
“Yes, Mr. Burke.”
Only then did the doctor know he was staring at a formidable figure.
Meanwhile, at the Sutton Group.
Geoffrey was working absent–mindedly.
Knowing what day today was, Sean asked curiously, “You’re gonna finalize the divorce today, right? Why are you
still here?”
Geoffrey’s hand flipping through documents paused as he frowned.

“I’m not going.”
“Why not?” Sean pressed on.

Though feeling a bit frustrated, Geoffrey appeared calm. He said flatly, “Maureen had second thoughts. She told me early this morning she wasn’t going.”
Hearing this, Sean sat on the sofa nearby, spread his hands, and sneered, “I knew that deaf girl was up to something.
“She’s just been playing hard to get these days. You know what? I think you should sue for divorce…”
He kept calling Maureen “the deaf girl” with such contempt.
Geoffrey listened silently. His eyes darkened, and yet he didn’t stop Sean.
Due to his acquiescence, neither Sean, nor Heather, nor Wayne, nor even the help at the old residence treated Mau- reen well.
Sean received a call and left in a hurry.
Geoffrey picked up his cellphone subconsciously. Maureen hadn’t called once.
Geoffrey redialed her number. And again, it was the cold, mechanical reply.
“Sorry, the person you’re trying to reach is unavailable. Please try again later…”
Vexed, he tossed his phone aside.
He walked to the picture window and lit a cigarette.
At midnight, he remembered Maureen’s words. She said she was regretful.
A bitterness rose at Geoffrey’s throat. He coughed violently.
A female voice came from behind him, “Geoffrey, you should quit smoking. It’s bad for your health.”
Geoffrey’s heart skipped a beat. Was Maureen back?
But when he turned around, it was Andrea whom he saw. She was in plain clothes.
A trace of light flitted across his intense eyes. “What are you doing here?” he asked coolly.
Andrea looked at him affectionately.
“Your mom sent me. She knows Maureen is already with someone else. She thinks you should move on.”
Heather and Andrea knew each other.
Four years ago, Sean and Heather were attacked in a car by an enemy compan
Heather lost a massive amount of blood. The hospital ran low on type O blood. That happened to be Maureen’s blood
type.

When she knew Maureen was hospitalized, she hastened to the hospital to look after her. That was when she learned what happened.
Also, that was when she took all the credit for saving Heather’s life.
She thought that out of gratitude, Geoffrey would marry her.
Against her expectations, however, to gain more power and to help her son’s career, Heather proposed a marital al- liance to the Ramirez family, despite Maureen’s hearing problem.
