Tangled in His Sheets Novel Ch 37
Mia’s pov
“What?” My brows drew together in a tight line of confusion as Colby stares at me like I was some kind of
weird creature.
He clears his throat, shaking his head slightly as he fixed the seat belt around him. “Nothing. Just didn’t think you had it in you to stand up to an intimidating guy like that,”
There’s something lurking in his voice. Something hidden. Something I couldn’t seem to put my finger on. 1
I don’t linger on it though. My head was already filled with thoughts of Kade, I didn’t want to burst my brain to somehow get the meaning behind Colby’s gaze.
“The guy lives with me Colby. Of course, he’s not as intimidating to me as he is to others. “I said, giving a poised shrug that should make Colby not question me. But all it cause was for him to hum and look at me like I was the last word he was itching to find in a word puzzle.
“Yeah that’s true. You’re more acquainted with him than the rest of us. And Brianna did say Kade seems to care for you. ” Colby murmurs, his blue eyes sweeping away from me and landing on the boy we were talking about.
Tearing his eyes away, Colby looked at me, narrowed his eyes then smiled. ” Anyway, I need to go home and indulge in ice cream with my mom.” He whips out of his lips and fixed himself on the seat.
I squinted at his face, then elegantly lift a brow. “You mean eat your mom’s ice cream before she gets
home from work?”
Colby laughed. “You know me so well bestie! Now hop on it, I have only thirty minutes left and it’s a huge ass tub of ice cream.”
“I’ll make sure to write a nice speech I could say at your funeral.” I snorted knowing his mother would probably kill him when she finds her tub of ice cream empty with the creamy goodness inside her son’s
belly.
Shaking my head, I started the car and drove away. But not before my traitorous eyes snuck a quick glance at Kade. Our eyes met and I swiftly darted my gaze away from his as my heart pounded. Something told me this conversation wasn’t over. And I had an inkling it would resume home.
I was wrong.
The entire day Kade didn’t spare me a glance or tried to include me in the conversation he had with Austin. Safe to say, I felt like an outsider in my own house.

So I stayed cooked up inside my room and binged an entire season of H20 while I try to drown out the voices of Kade and Austin downstairs. It was like they were the best of friends, shouting as they played video games on the television. He was fitting right in. 1
Even he and mom were on the best of terms. Yes, he was still a little cold when talking to her but at least he was trying to converse with her willingly.
And now, I couldn’t help but feel jealous of Austin for snagging his attention. And absolutely envious that mom got more words out of his mouth than I did in two weeks. I knew I shouldn’t but I did.
I was so jealous and frustrated that I wanted to get out of my bed, stomp down there and demand Kade to have the decency to at least look me in the eye, especially for causing my mind and body to be totally at war because of him.
But I bit my tongue and opted for headphones then raised the volume. I winced but at least it was high enough to block them out.
I forced myself to listen to the words that slipped through the buds of the headphones until I found myself falling asleep.
By the time I woke up, it was already the next day. Or more precisely in the morning. I blinked, opening and closing my mouth in, I bet funny way as I felt drool at the corners of my lips.
Squinting and groaning, I moved the headphone in my ear and looked at my black screen computer. It was dead. Maybe for hours now.
Brushing a finger down the corners of my mouth I looked at the clock on my nightstand. 3:45
So it was in the morning.
Grunting, I stretched my limbs like a lazy cat, yawning so loud that I was sure I scared even the ghost in the house.
“Shit,” I grumble, rising into a sitting position only to crack my back like an old lady.
It was so stiff that it pained to even straighten my spine. I must’ve slept wrong. (1)
No shit Sherlock.
Don’t be annoying so early conscious, I have no time for crap right now.
Speaking about crap…..
I need to pee so badly.
Forcing myself to my feet, a low hiss rolled out of my lips as my bare feet touch the cold floor.
“Come on feet get use to the chill,” I grumble in displeasure as I walked towards the door and opened it.

The hallway was dimly lit because of a lamp mom always left on specifically for Austin if he were to wake up and need to pee. He hates the dark.
Closing the door behind me, I tip–toed my way to the bathroom. For one reason, my feet didn’t want to get
used to the cold floor. 1
When I do enter the bathroom, I flick the light on and then walk towards the toilet. I groan in annoyance. “Freaking boys will always be boys so of course, they left the seat up.‘
”
“And little old Mia has to endure it,” Grumbling under my breath, I pulled down the soft cotton shorts
very cold along with my panty and then started relieving myself after I fixed my butt on the, God I say it, seat. It took a lot of willpower to even sit down on what someone could mistake as ice.
Squeezing my eyes shut, I listened to the sound of my own pee hitting the water down in the bowl and tried to make a beat in my head to go along with it.
But then suddenly a voice cracks through the door. Stilling me and my damn pee.
“Mia?” Kade calls out, sounding like he was almost pressing his mouth on the door.
Completely shocked that he was up at this time, I stuttered out a sloppy reply. “U–hye–s?”
My eyes quickly fall to the doorknob, remembering that I hadn’t locked it. It’s not like I would have known he was going to show up here.
Suddenly to my horror the doorknob twist and my heart suddenly stills along with my pee and my body.
Beat heart. We can’t die on a cold ass toilet seat! (1)
“Kade!” I hissed lowly when the door cracks open and his huge tatted body enters. He doesn’t spare me a glance but walks over to the shower. (2
I watch him perplexed and lost as I squeeze my thighs together and bend in a way so he’d not see….. “You know this is highly inappropriate and quite fucking crazy! And should I mention absolutely wrong? “I hissed, making sure to keep my voice low enough to not wake up my parents. I wouldn’t want them to know Kade was currently in the bathroom with me.
I felt my face flame.
With his back to me, Kade mumbles. “It’s not a big deal. I’m not peeking at you,”
I ground my teeth until it hurt. “Not a big deal? Have you gone officially mad or something? If this is your way of apologizing-
“What–what are you doing?” I stuttered out as I watch Kade push down his loose grey sweats and briefs and no doubt pulled out his cock.

I tore my eyes away, my face flaming even more than it was seconds ago. “Relax, I’m just going to pee,”
He grumbles.
His answer has me whipping my gaze back to him, to murder him with my glare as I seethed faintly. You’re going to pee in the shower!”
Taking a quick peek at me over his shoulder, he grumbles. “I can’t exactly pee on you now can I? Or is this one of your fetishes?”
I stuttered for a few then finally found my voice that grew a little. “You could’ve simply waited for me to finish. And how did you know the door was unlocked?!”
He lifts his shoulders, the muscle in his back flexing. “I was just trying it, didn’t think it was actually unlocked. Besides I needed to pee badly, I didn’t know how long you’d be in there.” His excuse was dumb and I knew without a single doubt, that he was doing this on purpose to annoy me.
Grumbling, I could hear the sound of his pee hitting the tiles in the shower.
I cringed, contemplating if to never step foot in that shower again.
“That’s nasty Kade. I use that shower, Austin uses that shower. Now you’ve infected it.” I grumble, unpleased that I would have to probably be the one to bleach every last corner of the shower.
Kade snorts. “Infected it? I’m merely peeing Mia. And yes I’m very aware that you shower here, can’t exactly turn a blind eye on a red thong which I presume belongs to you.” Turning to face me slightly, I could see his lips curl up into a smirk. “Have I told you that I love the color red?”
I felt hot suddenly, which was very awkward considering the current situation. “This is a highly inappropriate conversation to have right now Kade. Now would you hurry up!”
Chuckling Kade murmurs. “You didn’t seem to mind the other conversation I had with you prior to this one. What makes this one so inappropriate?”
He opens the faucet and lets the water wash away his pee.
“Oh I don’t know Kade, maybe it’s because I’m currently in the bathroom, my bare ass on a cold toilet seat. And you were seconds ago peeing in the shower I use by the way. “I muttered out sarcastically.
Was he seriously not seeing a problem with this?
Kade closes the faucet, snorting out a chuckle. “Nothing you haven’t seen before Red. As for your cold ass on the seat, there’s a solution to that.”
I could detect the amusement coming from his tone and grind my teeth together. How can one boy be so infuriating? He makes me want to kill him then kiss him.
Don’t think about kissing him Mia.

“Whatever the solution is, I don’t want to hear it. Now get out!” I snapped. I wanted to pee, well continue peeing. I couldn’t pee in his presence.
Kade turns around, his blue eyes pinning me down hotly. “I like when you wear red.” He suddenly mumbles, eyes falling to my red shorts currently wrapped around my knees.
I stuttered, reddening like a fire truck. Or like Austin likes to say it, like a strawberry.
“Kade,” I seethed. He was doing it on purpose to make me uncomfortable and it was working.
Chuckling, he starts to walk towards the door but stops abruptly before the sink. Opening the faucet he washes his hand, then glances at me with laughter in his eyes. “This might help,” He said, leaving the faucet open and leaving the bathroom before I could get myself together and respond to him.
Sighing in annoyance, I resumed my pee session and then washed my hands under the pipe when I was done. I looked at myself in the mirror, noticing how flushed my cheeks were.
This was the most awkward and embarrassing encounter I ever had to endure.
Especially with him.
But when I went to open the door when I was done, Kade greeted me, forearm leaning against the frame, head tucked on that arm like he was in some kind of pain.
“Kade?” I whispered, stunned to see that he was still there and like this.
He lifts his head, eyes connecting with mine and my breath catches by the fire burning in the blue swirls. “I try so fucking hard Mia. I try so damn hard to stay away from you.” He manages to get out hoarsely.
Feeling my tongue grow heavy, I stay muted and shocked. But my heart starts beating like a drum when suddenly he pushes off the frame and walks into the bathroom, having me back away a little.
I gasp when he closes the door, locking it in place. A startled breath pushes out of my lips when suddenly Kade’s huge hand is around my neck and backs me up to the counter. “You’re off–limits but fuck it if that doesn’t make me want you more.” He grumbles, staring deep into my eyes. A deep sound at the back of his throat claims the air around us and my skin buzzed with excitement.
“Makes me want you so much more.” Hissing, Kade slams his lips on mine.
